Wallenberg TMZ style

One of the things I have always loved about SF is the random combo of skaters. Hesh vs. Fresh has never really been an issue here. It's always just been about skating, even back when Cards skated EMB. Dude ripped and that's all that mattered, Kelch just let him be.

Speaking of cards lets start it off with the man himself.

He actually showed up at the after part with Joey Tershay and a few others on fixed gears. They left super fast once they realized the reefer was not welcome in the bar. Too bad.

Next up we have got Carrol and the Gav, nothing special here just posting this one for my man Doug. Got to love "lunch with the gav".

Next up Carrol and Syfranski, random and dude was just as jacked in person.

Tony T. and Mic Reyes Daughter had a nice view from a lifeguard chair.

The Chief and Steamer, Jamie was rockin some serious motorcycle boots.

Reda with some weird photo arm brace and Joe Brook.

More randomness Johnson and Syfranski.

Busnitz, Johnson with Jeron lurking in the background. Busnitz was just messing around not even using the roll in...two pushes and was almost ollieing it.

I have a few more photos to post that Dave took. A good one of Lizard's scarewalk. There is enough coverage out there already, just adding my point of view.

As far as I am concerned, Catfish had the sickest trick of the day. That bigspin was insane, Dave and I had a quick beer with him later that night and he was also one of the nicest dudes you'll ever meet.

NEWS FLASH

The only news that matters today (skatewise) Koston on Nike. Maybe the worst kept secret, but looking forward to his shoe. Never been a Nike hater, just haven't found one I can skate in.

Day 1.5

So left Ottawa bright and early at 6am and landed in SF at 11:30am their time. Little weary and tired but stoked to be there and have most of day to hang out. We spent that afternoon wondering around SF checking out a few shops, HUF, and DLX mainly. While in DLX I ran into Mike Dahr, someone who I had met only once before in FL. To my surprise he remembered me and told me John Montessi (mutual friend) was also in town. I was hyped because I knew John had lots of connections and could possibly be an in for the "Back to the Berg".

That night we wanted to keep it low key and got cheap tickets to the Giants game. Being a hockey fan I never understood how someone could watch a whole baseball game. That night we found out...lots of beer, thats how. Our mellow night quickly turned into something else, but was well worth it.

We awoke bright, early, and hung over the next morning. Grabbed our boards, coffee and headed out for Wallenberg. We got there around 9:30, and to our amazement, hardly anyone was there. (on our way there past the safeway curb that every 80's/90's SF pro has a least one trick on) Just as the dudes getting things set up and putting the finishing touches on the roll in. We found a spot along the rail at the last step and did not move our lower bodies for the next 4hrs. Dedication!

Not only were they working on the roll in, they were also fixing the "dip" with bondo. Not sure how I feel about this, kinda takes something away from it but I guess the roll in does as well, what ever.

There was one dude, working on his switch heels and switch frontside flips, he was catching them waist high. He must of psyched himself out though. If you watch the Thrasher footy hes the one Jake mocks with the shaking all scared move.

Later this week I will post my TMZ style pics from the contest.

It's been awhile...

Said that last time, but really it has. This time I am back with a bang. A few months ago when they announced the Back to the Berg contest I thought "wouldn't it be sick to be there". Well I was, and it was one of the most amazing sessions I have ever witnessed. More to come. Here is a teaser, more to come.

finally a new post...but a quickie

Life has been/is crazy so not much time to post anything up. Just a quick one today, head over to thrashermagazine.com to check out Phelps 5 days of hate, #1 is Frank Hirata.

Only met Phelps once and he pretty much is exactly what you think he is, a dick.
